Set up new Google Analytics Account for UNLcms

Create Google Analytics Account

Before creating a new Google Analytics account, make sure the site doesn't already have one associated with it. Do not create a new Google Analytics account for the site if one already exists and is in use. There are different ways Google Analytics code may have been placed on a UNLcms site. Most commonly, Google Analytics code may have been entered in Appearance>Settings in the"Head HTML" field or the Google Analytics ID may have been entered in Configuration>Google Analytics. Check both places to determine if a Google Analytics account already exists for the site (or email to check).

  1. Go to Google Analytics
  2. Click the Admin Gear icon on the bottom of the Google Analytics left navigation
  3. Click "+ Create Account"
  4. Enter or select the following:
    1. Enter "Account Name": mywebsite.unl.edu
    2. Uncheck Data Sharing Settings except for "Technical support"
    3. Click "Next"
    4. Under "Property name", enter mywebsite.unl.edu
    5. Under "Reporting Time Zone" select "United States" and "Chicago Time"
